Long Beach is working on a full replacement of the Desmond Bridge for seismic safety, widening, and better channel clearance. Not quite ready to go to full-scale construction yet.

Heim is moving along. It will provide 47' of clearance under the fixed span. Ships that can't fit through that can get into the back channel docks from either the Long Beach or the San Pedro side.

None of these projects affect the railroad (Badger) bridge.
