I agree totally. This equipment would have been chopped up years ago. If anybody thinks its easy to even cosmetically restore a Loco then your nuts. I thank Mr Kepner for his efforts. For those of you who think its just paint.
Cheap oil based paint for a small 2-8-0 narrow gauge loco with minimal prep $15000 with good dupont emron try 30,000. Now if you need to remove any hazmat add 15gs plus permit and the required oversight another 10g ( I won't even guess what Crazy Cali or OR want for the permits). If it has a tank full of bunker c add 3 to 5gs for clean up and removal. If you sandblast you better have good collection equipment or you will be digging up some dirt. Now throw a roof over it and you better have a deep pocketbook.
Who knows maybe one or even two get brought back to life, or maybe only one or ends up in a public display, Mr Kepner put his money out there. I thank him
