Harsco Rail Grinder RMS 11 worked westbound through Spokane WA on the BNSF mainline. Sunday night 1/21/2007 they tied up in the MOW siding off of main 2 at Otis Orchards, about 12 miles east of Spokane. On 1/22/2007 they went to work at 6:00 am continuing west through Spokane. The crew indicated that RMS 11 is a new unit and this is its first trip in the west.
The power cars (2) look to me like a F40 "B" unit might have appeared. They have a GE style 4-wheel truck and a Cummins diesel engine for power; at least this is what the crew told me. 48 grinding wheels on each side.
