I have been told that the 6900 came to Spokane sometime in the late 1970s for a UP employee appreciation day. They ran a push-pull passenger operation with a couple of GP-38-2s a few miles down the Plummer line while the 6900 was on display.

I still think that 6936's run up to Eastport was the first time a DD40X went north of Spokane.
