When it comes to BNSF the Chewelah Turn (runs north out of Spokane WA to interchange with the Kettle Falls International RR) has been pretty famous for using two or three GP60B’s bracketed by standard cab GP60’s or GP50’s for the last several years. Pretty awesome to see a 100+ car train with four or five geeps on the head end. Other locals out of Spokane that have traditionally used GP38-2’s and GP39’s have recently started using GP50’s and GP60’s. These units have almost always been either BNSF orange units or patched BN green units, with the occasional Santa Fe yellow bonnet. So I wouldn’t be surprised to see the GP60M’s start showing up in place of the BN green units. Other locations in the Northwest (Seattle, Portland) have pretty similar patterns.
