Actually a bit of clarity, most of my appreciation for the hobby hasn't been sullied by the political views of individuals, but rather the aggressive means many railfans I've encountered use to express their political opinions. Unless it comes to pondering the merits of public-sector operations or in how mandates such as the PTC legislation or crew size policy affect railroads, political content really has no place in this hobby.

Differing world views only work when everyone's civil. That's all there is to it.
