The Depression hit NWP pretty hard. Most of the mills on the north end were closed. The electric trains were on the rocks with the bridges being finished. Things were not going well with NWP in general. The post war lumber boom and NWP's best years were nearly a decade in the future. A new yard in Arcata, a new yard in Eureka and traffic probably beyond anyone's imagination.
