Not anymore. Originally, the ZG2OA and ZG2LT were run together east of Sparks. At Sparks, the Lathrop cars were cut off the rear of the train and run separately as the ZSPLT.

For about a year now, the ZG2OA has been a stand-alone train from Chicago to Oakland. The G2 to Lathrop traffic is handled separately.

I believe the market for traffic going from Chicago to Oakland is relatively small compared to traffic going to Lathrop. The ZG2OA probably still makes money charging shippers (especially UPS and ABF) premium rates.
