At Palmdale Jct. there are a set of searchlights controlling entry and exit to Colton Cutoff. I think they are operational and viewed them lit from Avenue R. Saugus line is tri-color. Is rest of Cutoff equipped with searchlights or are these just an isolated set?--orphans? Can anyone advise the traffic patterns through here? Metrolink of course, Saugus line. Lots of stack traffic--LATC and ICTF? Have seen some kind of covered hopper unit train going through Vincent. Of course there is coal, soda ash and other bulk traffic/mtys to/from Searles. What traffic uses Cutoff these days? How much of it is "I-5"? Thanks to anyone who wishes to give a profile of UP traffic Palmdale/Mojave for educational purposes.
