The way I see it, the challengers won and lost.
They won in that the election process was delayed and eventually handled by a 3rd party. How well it was handled is open to debate but I won't go into it here. I doubt they would be liable to pay any compensation, as it appears they "won" the issue of how the election would be handled.
All of the challenger's candidates were defeated in the election, so they lost in that regard. One could say that the challengers "won the battle, but lost the war," except that (unfortunately) I fear the war is not over yet. I wonder what will happen next year.
Disclosure: I have been a dues paying member of the FRRS for longer than I can remember, but it's also been many years since I've visited the museum. Wayne Cohen is my real name and these are my opinions.
