We as kids use to throw switches and ring up Los Feliz Tower when trains came through.
There were three tracks going by the tower that SP used. This included two tracks crossing the SP's. This was the PE's that ran from Burbank to LA.
The north track was the main line for going North while the southbound was trains going South. Just passed Glendale Blvd to the south or LA side was the third track or which was called the slide and it went directly into Taylor Yard.
If I remember right there were 36 switches and signals in the tower. Derails and switches were black while signals were red.
