Per the Hot Spots listing at the CHP web site ( [cad.chp.ca.gov] ) a few minutes ago 58 is long-term closed from west of Mojave (Sand Canyon/Cameron area) to just east of Bakersfield (Tower Line). Reports of mudslides, flooding, big rigs washed over the side, places where the water's too high to check bridge conditions yet. The railroad can't be doing much better. Reports seem to be centered on Bealeville Rd. area. No clear word on side roads. Plus, there is flooding in spots near Visalia along 99 (UP is next to the road - ??) and on 184 with near-submerged cars. Looks like that little low pressure area finally moved in ...
