We had the G-P national contract for bearings, power transmission and fluid power equipment but
the PA at the mill kept buying from his "local" friends. We had a meeting with the G-P VP of
Purchasing and the local PA but little came as he went back to his normal ways the minute the
corporate guy left. It was weird because we walked out of the meeting and the big guy looked out
over the ocean view bluff and remarked that the land was a waste of space for a lumber mill. I
guess we pretty much knew what was going to happen and it was only a matter of time before the
mill closed. Ocean view property usually trumps lumber mills even in good times.
