That's all very nice. Bully for you. But I've more or less given up on that.

Except for special occasions, such as when a UP steam excursion comes through or something like that; the UP dicks or local transit police will run you off any public place anywhere near the tracks. And when they are not at it, the druggies are at it instead - having a field day in or anywhere near neighborhoods where there are lots of illegals. Guess where the best train watching spots are! And guess what else: These goons are even less informed about rail fanning than are the police - not that they would actually believe you, or care.

Supposedly, after the local cops shot a major foreign drug kingpin here, international drug cartels declared war on our local and state police, and are now shooting at the cops every time an arrest is attempted, even using direct military tactics to prevent the arrest.

Meanwhile, if you are sitting at one of these train watching spots anywhere near their turf, they'll likely mistake you for a drug user and make you "an offer", so to speak. Now here's the thing: If you decline, or they mistake you for an under cover cop - they will shoot. It happens frequently. Anyway, we have been warned to stay away from these areas. Besides, if you stay there long enough, there is virtually no chance that you will not be chased off by the police or shot at by druggies.

Too bad our governor's pleas for federal help with this "military" problem have been largely ignored by the White House. But I suppose after all, these criminals do have a right to be here too - right? We should be tolerant of everybody - even murderous criminals - right!

Ya; Right!

As I said, we will (are) getting what we deserve; for our years of poor citizenship. Especially so since similar severe problems persist in a number of western states, only because of persistent inaction from the Federal Administration we sloppy and mal-informed voters elected.
