I saved from my engineering work so I could retire.
I did so while sending most of my kids to collitch, so they could have a chance to do what they want. I don't have a RV or a boat or a vacation home.
I never had a rep tell me to 'work slower- you're making us look bad'
I was forced, briefly, as a lowly State employee to pay union dues that went to not me.
Let's just say, to counter your unkind remark, while you were "earning' your retirement sitting on your butt, I was busting my butt 40-60-80- hrs a week at times, and sitting with no income at other times
Can't recall a single instance of shafting a union drone, but I watched a few of the worthless in the construction industry. In fairness to the iron workers and carpenters I knew in the west, the scumbags were east of the Rockies
Oh and as far as 'opening our border' I have no problem with folks who obey the law-
I grew up with Braceros, they obeyed the law and prospered
I DO have a problem with the law breakers and law-ignorers and those who encourage them.
