Instead I think these monies should be sifted towards other rail projects like finally getting Amtrak over the Tehachapi's by doubling or triple tracking the route. The purchase of the Union Pacific coast route from Los Angeles to the Bay Area. The Los Angeles to Indio rail corridor and many other projects for which these monies were intended for as well. The $68 billion could go a long way towards establishing these goals for our states transportation future.
