Ok some Googling turns up this history:

Modoc Northern 700
GP-7, built 8/53

ex-Lake County 700, ex-Columbia & Cowlitz 700, ex-Chehalis Western 776, ex-Weyerhaeuser 776, ex-N&W 2436, nee Nickel Plate 436.

Whew, that's a lot of owners. Since Doyle is an NKP fan, I'm surprised he doesn't snap this locomotive up.
