It is my understanding that Diesel #2 only applies to certain states, although this is being gradually mandated. We did have someone once on the SP who thought this would be a cheap way to fuel his Mercedes, back in the days of "enriched" bunker diesel. It wasn't such a good idea, especially noisy with all of the misfiring (he realized the mistake right away when he turned it over?), and after about $400 to replace most of his fuel system he had learned that lesson(this was so cheap because it was the early 70's?). Pure "greed" and sheer stupidity often go quite nicely together.
