If BNSF's project dies things could get interesting again. There was a project to build a truck bypass (with provisions for electric trolley trucks even!) along 710 from the ports to near Hobart. A DEIS was done but it ended there, so far. IIRC one of the issues was that if BNSF moved a lot of traffic from Hobart to the near-dock yard there might not be the need (or the toll money) for the bypass. IIalsoRC a few smaller bits of the Big Project have proceeded as minor rehab/improvements.
