It is very rare on a LOSSAN train, and a great way to view the coast.....should be one on every train, if we ran a truly first world rail passenger system.
The LOSSAN south trains are now almost always jam packed on both the most weekdays and all weekends, now that it can "normally" take you five hours just to go from Glendale to Del Mar at almost any time of the day. I noticed when I was down at the track a few weeks ago that every train is now a six car set. So the corridor would appear to be "scraping the bottom of the barrel" for equipment to use this on LOSSAN.
How many of the newest CA car order have been delivered, if any, from the now 6 year old "stimulus" order?
I know that they didn't have enough cars to add the 7th San Joaquin without using the refurbished NJT coaches.
So does anyone at Caltrans or on Altamont really know when are these new CA cars will be arriving in sufficient numbers?
