The program sheet (linked in the first post) is a little vague on total funding. Supposedly, the total cost of the 5 locomotives is about $15.5 million. "Funding Commitments" from South Coast AQMD and others (ARB has to approve AQMD use of some funds from another ARB program) total about $2.6 million. Not sure where the rest is coming from, or if the total is from the pilot program minus other commitments. If you're really interested, it might be worth contacting the ARB person identified.
Also, the line was supposed to be ready to run, per the program sheet, in July 2016 - anybody in the area have any reports of reconstruction activity and stage of completion? Beginning to wonder if this is another PIR operation. Speaking in the project description of running from an interchange yard at Ferrum (which anybody can see in Google doesn't exist) to the mine leaves me wondering.
