Re: What happened to MRL 390 (the BN F-45)?

The fate of MRL 390 was first posted on TO the second week of April.
About a month later Dyna Rail became aware that it was going to be purchased for scrap. A meeting was held and it was decided to put together a campaign to attempt to save it from the scrappers torch. We knew it was going to be an uphill battle as we had less than 10 days to raise the money to affect a sale. Making the timing worse, that 10 days ended with a Memorial Day weekend.
Fortunately, our efforts did in fact obtain the intended result, that MRL 390 was saved. We did learn that it was through our efforts that the buyer learned of the predicament and was able to step forward to purchase the unit.
All donations received during that campaign are indeed earmarked for restoration work needed on 644.
