Remember when the 261's Mars light was removed I was going to ask Steve Sandburg what happened to it and was advised not to do. I found out later that many many fans were hammering him about it and apparently he did not appreciate it.The red Mars light on the 261 has returned and all is well again. Hopefully the 844 will turn out the same way.
