I believe the Howell Day Museum of the National Model Railroad Association is slated to occupy nearby space, and if the progress there is any indication, not so good. I e-mailed Charlie Getz of the NMRA, who was previously on record as saying a sort of pre-exhibit for the Howell Day Museum would be up on the mezzannine of the main California State Railroad Museum in summer 2008, which would be now. Getz says it's now slated for sprinig 2009.

Getz is also involved in a narrow gauge foundation that also plans to occupy space near the technology museum; I don't know how that's going. But the combination of glib predictions and lack of visible progress isn't good.
