What a crock of BS...
Can't the Laws and Independence groups grow up, leave their egos aside and work together? If they have the 18 and the doodlebug, they can make a joint effort to lay track south from Laws and north from Kearsarge and make a Golden Spike type of celebration whenever (if ever) gets done, honestly.
Ahhh, 2016 America can bring an assorted box of railfans... Grumpy old farts with their "can't do unless you kiss my butt" attitude and the millennial "me, me, me" selfie generation that would make Kim Kardashian and David Beckham proud with their narcissism...
Most non profits have great guys, Laws and Independence have many old and young that are remarkable. As a volunteer on my local rr museum, I'm getting TIRED of the lack of leadership in NRHS or ATRRM to fail and not clean the toxic parasite "Board members" of a few RR museums that think they OWN the place (insert a volunteer railroad museum here).
If these pricks want their own choo choo, by all means they should go to places like Sterling Rail and BUY their own Private car ON THEIR OWN DIME and end RR museum politics and whipe out those creeps that chase potential volunteers away. I'm aware that dictatorships are needed in a way to keep control, but paranoia and bitterness can be a disaster in a railroad environment. You can't have SAFETY FIRST with some of these clowns and the behavior that RUINS a fun and safe environment to volunteers that GIVE away their weekends to work there...
Members want things done and volunteer and pitch money but these creeps have way too much power and are sooo entitled foamers that even chase us railroaders away... But I'm a tough cookie sticking around and I say things in a most polite way without being PC police... I mean perhaps the solution is having volunteer coordinators in every group...
All the best,
Demi
