Those blocks were a pain in the ass. I remember a few of them that swung in to block the drawbar from moving side to side. Trouble was most of them were bent and the pins to hold them were missing or wouldn't line up with the holes.
That used to be one of the "20 Questions" they used to ask when you would get stopped for testing. How many allowed, how much separation and where would you place them, use of DB, etc. Usually the only time I had them was when is was working the gang and the RH somewhere had done all the work.
