I remember talking to a relative in Altoona in 1959 who was a retired hostler on the Pennsylvania. I asked him about the J's(there were still some in the scrap line there in Altoona at the time along with some 2-10-0's) Didn't like them - the drive rods were too long and heavy. I asked him about the T-1's - didn't like them as dirty for the engineers and tended to slip easily. What did he like? K-4's.
