I was wondering how far up towards Arlight you could go with a drone without stepping on the Air Force's toes. How far away does one of those things go before it loses contact with the operator? Is it line of sight only?

I know they had line side tracking equipment to keep an eye on trains in the blind spot areas. The first one was at Capitan down towards the west switch. Then they were scattered in different places all the way past Waldorf about 2 miles from the east switch of Guadalupe.
