This may well be true, but.....

In my conversations on this subject with several members of the legislature and staff, from both parties, this project is losing support.... One asked me what the "game plan" was, and my answer was that it was to keep the contractors "milking the cow....". There still is no realistic operating plan or financial plan, other than to keep "milking the cow", which is no plan at all.

Billions in intercity and local commute projects in our major congested urban corridors remain unfunded, while the CHSRA fiasco goes on and on with the "change order racket" slopping a handful of contractor's troughs with what little funding we do have for rail, for the travel "demands" in the critically needed rail corridor from Chowchilla to Wasco....

As I said earlier this year, no one wanted a pissing contest over this in an election year, but there are a number of folks who want a new transportation bill in Sacramento, and want to and need to reign in the "runaway money train" to get a strong bipartisan bill. CHSRA has been "leaking" personnel of late, and I expect a series of news stories into next year on how dysfunctional this project continues to be.

So, if this post is true, it could be indicative of an attempt to pre-emptively cut some of that off, and raise lots of money from contractors for any 2018 races....

I'm shocked to see gambling going on in this casino.......
