I've always seen KCS' stock as kind of speculative compared to the others. It seems to move in ways that are difficult to explain. At least it pays a small dividend, unlike G&W (the Borg of short lines). I know they separated from Janus Funds years ago, but was that a total break? Anyway, short-term market moves are for dummies and day-traders to pay attention to. Long-term, KCS does depend a lot on Mexican traffic and is exposed if the new President effectively carries out his promises regarding trade. So as things develop I could see their stock lagging a bit. Any immediate panic is hype, though; I think they're still running trains and a profit ...
The market in general did pull a complete reversal from the election-night futures, which predicted a drop of 100's of points. That also could be a fluke. Stock market: the only casino that's legal in all 50 states, and online at that.
