The photo collection of Kevin Cavanaugh on Flickr.com has some neat shots.

Here's a couple that I liked.

Something Lost in the Translation

Before job briefings and puke-yellow/green safety vests, this is how it was done. Near as I can remember, this was a OERM Ojai Special at Ojai on Oct 12, 1968. The crew, plus RFE (?) talking over the return back down the Ojai Branch to Ventura and a connection with the SP's Coast Line and then back to LAUS. 6203 was one of Espee's few remaining passenger F7A's when this was taken with my trusty Instamatic. However, Strapac's 1968-69 SP MP Annual shows 6203 being retired prior to the July 1, 1968 roster, so I don't know. Maybe someone can enlighten me down the road...

Here We Go
Coming off the balloon loop at the east end of West Colton Yard and heading west towards Los Angeles on March 21, 1978. The GP9/U25B/GP9/GP35 (L&N 1115) consist looks like it might have been sitting for a while based on all of the white exhaust headed skyward.
