I have never had a problem sitting in my car at the station and have never been bothered. They even let me use the bathroom no questions asked. Like the other poster said it is not the best view for pictures but you can see everything that passes. There is a detector just to the north if you have a radio. Once when I was using the bathroom and picking up some timetables some old biddy came in and said some old guy was sitting in his car in the parking lot acting strange so the sheriff went out and asked what was going on found out he was a harmless railfan and let him stay but he left anyway just because. The sheriff has a small office in the back of the station so some times there is a officer on site. I would not hesitate to go sit in the north parking lot where you can see the signals and observe the action.
