First, the title of the movie is "Switchback" - one word. That may seem overly picky to some of you, but it typing the correct title helps those readers who may want to look up the movie on the Internet.

I have mixed feelings about the movie. On the one hand, I tend to avoid any movies with violence in them, unless they are movies based on historic events where violence occurred (wars, the Holocaust, slavery and civil rights & labor struggles).

On the other hand, there are some wonderful scenes of trains in the Rockies. As I am somewhat of a Rio Grande fan, the movie is worthwhile for that alone.

Additionally, to the film makers' credit, one portion of the movie depicts a tightly knit community built along the railroad.
