I think it was back in the 60s and that whole Marysville, Yuba City are was flooded big time. It was a sea of water everywhere. That is why, on the SP there was "door" of sorts built west of the west switch. It was a small opening in the dike or river wall, a tad wider than the main line. That's where a huge door could be lifted or swung over the tracks and it acted like a plug. It was another "100 Year Flood" that happened every 5 or 10 years.
