The DOE proposed line from the UPRR in Caliente to Yucca Mountain via Tonopah is 336 miles long, the required route to avoid most nuke shipments going through Las Vegas and the Nellis Air Force Range.

The entire route can be downloaded and viewed in Google Earth at

An interesting sidenote, the county the the repository will be located in, Nye County, supports the line, but would like to see it built on the Mina corridor, and extended all the way to a connection at Jean to provide a "through-going" route. (No Pacific Rim, check the STB filings)
