There is talk of giving the line common carrier status. This would affect about the first 280
miles as the last bit is totally on government land and not subject to outside development. There
are maybe 500 total people near the line over it's whole length. It does not go "near" either
Tonopah or Goldfield or Beatty for that matter unless you're determining "near" by blast zone of
a 500 megaton bomb. The nearest thing of any size will be the new Moly mine at the north end of
Railroad Valley. Definitely a route to not bother anyone.
