Somewhere in the middle?

Good Christ, will there ever be an end to having these discussions yanked to the extreme positions of both sides? When people calm down a little, they always land towards center. Even the lefties know that regulating emissions on the relative handful of locomotives operating in the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles, versus the multi-thousands of trucks, is essentially a paper victory, having been aimed at a relatively easy target. Looks good on a press release certainly. Contrarily, most of us, certainly when being a passenger, are not too deeply offended that our engineer or pilot is subject to random drug testing, or to a fairly regimented training program.
Its time to admit that when the high horse, holier than thou, I-know-all-the-answers rhetoric calms down, most people will agree on a moderate platform, even if they have given some concession to arrive there. Because...that is how agreements (a fading term) are reached. And ironically I like half-and-half in my coffee.
