If I read this article right Amtrak has taken the passengers off the stranded Empire Builders and sent them by bus somewhere. The WB that was stuck at Shelby had the passengers sent via bus to Spokane. The EB stuck at Whitefish returned to Spokane. It doesn't say what they did with the passengers once they arrived in Spokane. Maybe the WB passengers were put on the former EB and sent on to Seattle and Portland. It also mentions that a WB stuck in Minot, ND was sent back to Chicago but it doesn't say what happened to the passengers.

It does mention that BNSF expects to open the line at midnight Tuesday.
