Alf, how long will it be before the redwoods will be mature, so the mills can reopen in Eureka, and bring those lost jobs back?

There haven't been good new jobs in Eureka, except for trimming buds, for the last 40 years of my life.....because they had finally cut down most of the redwoods. The few that are left support what's left of the economy, tourism. Now, the bud trimming jobs and cash weed economy is leaving, too. If I were you Alf, I'd be working harder on restoring a portion of the historic NWP for tourist operations, if you want to see some jobs, up there.

As to the rest of the state, there is actually a severe labor shortage on our farms, where we are leaving millions of dollars unpicked crops in the field. And, if all of you want to work doing that, why is it that I don't see any of you whiners at the farm labor offices?

Meanwhile, back on the subject of RR's, west coast ports just lost up to 50 coal trains, of low sulfer Wyoming coal, and the jobs that would have created, which would have been exported to China, on account of our new twitter based foreign policy rants. Heckuva a job so far on that promise to put coal miners back to work...?

When the soot mills and smoke factories are reopened to bring back those jobs that have been lost, making buggy whips and steam locomotives, please let me know.....?

Meanwhile, the last time I checked, no Chinaman forced to make you by your I-phone, and no Mexican avocado grower ever forced you to eat guacamole...... Free trade can only occur when there is benefit to both the buyer and seller, and I think Adam Smith was actually right about that. And, when we can't get parts to assemble autos or those new Siemens locomotives here in the US, and your guacamole, I-phone and flat screen costs you 20% more, while your wages actually fall from the inflation this would cause, due to discredited 19th century tariff policies, that brought two world wars, creating the conditions which brought Nazism and Communism to the world, and jobs to actually shrink as a result, we can all celebrate......right?

As to immigrants, anchor babies, and this other crap, the only anchor baby (born in the US to an illegal mother) I've ever known personally was my neighbors nephew, but like most these people we seem to get, he volunteered to join the US Marines out of pride in his American birth, and was killed in Falluja in 2006.....

We do need to reform our immigration processes, to provide for better tracking, protection of American workers from employers using immigrants to lower Amreican workers wages, and we should not permit illegal entry, which is why we already have a pretty big "wall", and over the last 8 years, have seen the greatest number of deportations in our history.

I would rather spend more money on our ageing and rapidly depreciating infrasture. We spend less on our aging and depreciating infrastructure than most other modern industrical economies and it is really beginning to show on the interstates that are as old as I am. But most of our welfare recipients are American born homeless, bankrupt due to illness, often the retarded, the mentally ill, divorced women with children, and those made unemployable do to lack of education and/or criminal records, since those without legal residence or citizenship papers cannot actually file for, nor recieve any such benefits.

So, based on that logic, should we maybe just gas those retarded and mentally ill and take that money to fix our infrastructure like Hitler did to the mentally ill and retarded? Or maybe just gas the ones that are foreign born....?

So no, it's not about trains, is it? Not only is this political crap, it's mostly a pile of horse crap posted by a set of whiners who think that as a "native" American you are "entitled' to a standard of living, that these days has been mostly been made possible, becasue those people you seem to hate so much are the ones working the hardest to acheive it.

And, how many of you "nativist" whiners are actually "real" "native" Americans? Because the last time I checked, there were a whole lot of real "native Americans" who want all of you self serving whiners who's ancestors migrated to "their" land, to murder "their" ancestors and illegally steal "their" lands from them, to leave.....
