What few employees are left aren't being told much. I really think the way you'll hear much or get any insights into IPH's true situation is through news stories such as this one, as various agencies either seek to have IPH replaced or go after them for money they are owed. To give you an idea how much the Texas State RR Board is considering to give up to IPH out of there, the cities of Palestine and Rusk are owed $2M. That's not chump change for small cities to forgive.

All that said, you can really read between the lines here-- it took right about a month for the Board to go from "We've talked to Iowa Pacific and they have reassured us the railroad is not shutting down" to "We want Iowa Pacific out of here." That says one of two things: the Board has become more aware of IPH's true situation, or the Board has been completely stonewalled when trying to get needed information to determine if IPH can continue to fulfill its contractual obligations. Maybe a little of both.
