SMART refuses to negotiate or even discuss with San Rafael the 3 minute stoppages of traffic every time the train comes to town. Says the extension to Larkspur is going to happen regardless of San Rafael concerns or effects on the largest Marin city.
The 120 riders that will be heading to Larkspur must be able to pass through the city in peace and speedily.
It's about transit and traffic relief at the cost of heavy traffic on city streets for the citizens of a city who won't even use the train at all.
