Talk about a perfect setup for Iowa Pacific to say "No tenemos el dinero." For those of you outside of California, that means "We don't have the money." The perfect way to bow out of this operation. Claim the line needs a lot of work to restore service, and the little bit of money they make on the passenger operations over that segment doesn't justify the investment to return the line to service at this time.

I don't think Hollywood could have handed Ed a better script. The only easier script is the Piedmont & Northern, because it has no traffic. That left spokesman extraordinaire Jim Fetchero the easiest script yet-- "We're just going to walk away when the contract is up."

The Texas State "disgruntled employee" was a flop. Wonder what Mt. Hood's will be?
