Interesting discussion. I'm a crew volunteer at Railtown and I'm also a PLA member, but I'm not active at Niles. We just finished our yearly training this past weekend. Railtown hired a gentleman to teach us and I must say, his class was INCREDIBLE!!! He was a terrific teacher. We had 8 hours classes for both days, and he kept the classes lively, interesting and entertaining. Nobody was dozing off. Everybody was on the edge of their seat, enjoying the class and really learning. I'v been volunteer there for 6 years, and I
have NEVER learned as much as I did this past weekend.
This kind of thing is exactly what PLA needs. Mr. Day really needs to just step back and let some new talent come in and help PLA improve.
