Sure it does. Manipulating the throttle just right when you're bored, and with the right train, was a great way to get the attention of a newer brakeman when you could get the unit to burp out a big fireball. I even got the fire department to chase us one night thinking a unit was on fire; when the yard office called us about the unit I played dumb and said all our power was perfect and that it must be some other train.
