The question is, of course, how much Grupo México and/or Ferromex interferes with the actual operation of FEC.

To me, it does not look like a hostile takeover, but more like a financial investment. Being a railroad owner already, chances that Grupo México is going to suck out FEC look not that high to me (although the valuable FEC assets are not the railroad, but the real estate (assuming that the real estate part is also part of the deal)).
