The PE Torrance Branch tied in at Alcoa, since both SP and ATSF served Alcoa, west of the lead to the old PE shops, located just north of downtown Torrance. You also crossed the Harbor sub on the PE, south of Torrance, when that portion of line still went through to San Pedro.

Torrance was a weird layout of tracks, "branches", and spurs, in medians, streets, over bridges, to the various dispersed industries, around town, on pieces of the old PE. Ah, the smell of exotic spices from the spice company and tank car loads of DDT....., which they used to dump, for forty years, into San Pedro Bay......the PE Lives!
