As I recall, the whole idea of rebuilding them was so that they would be using parts, training and technology which was available system-wide in case of emergency, rather than towing the dead units back to Cheyenne where parts and specially-trained people were available.

I guess the other E-9B which UP got by a trade with Portola will probably never be rebuilt...
