Interesting. So UP is passive-aggressively squatting on Tennessee Pass, but for the Modoc line they sold off the connecting part (Alturas to somewhere near KFalls) and pulled up the rest. Without even making the line a (bike or other) trail (must not be any Brians in Modoc & Lassen Counties)! Granted, Modoc had no prospect, even in a mostly-fictional scenario, of being a main line, while T.P. arguably does. Still ... interesting (using Laugh-In voice).
