Yes, Bryan was involved in the Northern Nevada Railroad, he started the line rehab and purchased as far as I know four locomotives, two GE 70-robbers from Santa Maria Valley and two MRS-1s from Portola. The 70-tonners made it, the MRS-1s did not, the museum eventually sold the one he painted yellow and orange to the Yreka Western, where it worked until they cut it up a couple years back. The Northern Nevada coincided with Magma Copper reopening the Ely mines, but before operations began BHP bought out Magma, and they wanted to run the railroad themselves and replaced Whipple's NN with their BHP Nevada Rail, which only operated 1995-1999 before BHP pulled the plug. S&S Shortline Leasing has the NN leased, their only business is car storage around Shafter. I doubt the Minersl Belt has anything to do with NN, it probably is a potential rebuild of the NCB, if not otherwise somehow involved with the Reno-Tahoe Industrial Park or some other new operation on that end of the state.
