This engineer, of course, wasn't doing those things you have stated electronics/sleeping, he was just distracted by an ongoing rock throwing incident, at night, and it caused him to lose his bearings and locational awareness. So all of that stuff you randomly added to feed your outrage and indignation, which is not found in the NTSF report, is total bull$#it. And, for all that outrageous rage and ranting it's clear that you really know nothing about these accidents or why they occur.

This was indeed a tragic event, but one caused by normal human error, which is why we are ever seeking safer systems to act as checks against human error. This kind of accident from loss of locational or situational awareness also happens to pilots, at night, and/or in weather, often in distracting or confusing situations, where they lose bearing, and crash.....

This was not a crime of willful "negligence", but an unfortunate accident, of a type that has occurred repeatedly, due to the fact that we often have gaps in how our brains process inputs, and how our brains can often deceive us, especially when confronted with distracting and/or disorienting situations. And, that is why these are almost always impossible to prosecute successfully based on a doctrine of negligence, and why the DA wisely chose not to prosecute, or waste taxpayer dollars on "show trials" for the sole purpose of political "chest thumping", in order to appeal to the vengeance seeking emotions of the ignorant mob.
